Special Education Teacher - Stillwater, MN

An exciting opportunity is available for a seasoned Special Education Teacher specializing in Developmental Cognitive Disabilities. This full-time, contract position is based at an elementary setting working with K-2 students. The assignment will begin at the end of February and continue through June 4, 2027, offering a meaningful way to support learners and foster growth over multiple academic years. Hours for this role are from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm each weekday.

In this role, youll have the chance to make a lasting impact on a supportive and close-knit group of approximately 10 students, helping to develop individualized learning strategies and guide their social and academic progress.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minnesota Special Education licensure required
• Experience in developmental cognitive disabilities preferred
• Familiarity with IEP development and progress monitoring
• Strong classroom management skills and ability to modify curriculum
• Collaborative approach to working with support staff, families, and related service providers
• Positive attitude and dedication to fostering student success

Role Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and adapt instruction for students with developmental cognitive disabilities in K-2
• Assess student needs, write and update IEPs, and document progress toward goals
• Create a engaging and safe classroom environment
• Communicate and collaborate with parents, guardians, and multidisciplinary teams
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and ongoing training
