Open Special Education Teacher (SPED) Opportunity

Full-Time Special Education Teacher – Sumter, SC

Blazer Jobs is currently interviewing experienced Special Education Teachers for full-time roles with school districts in the Sumter, SC area. We are seeking dedicated educators who are passionate about making a meaningful impact on the lives of students with disabilities.

Requirements:
Applicants must meet all local and state requirements, including:

• Valid South Carolina Teaching Certificate with an endorsement in Special Education (such as Multi-Categorical, Learning Disabilities, Emotional Disabilities, or Intellectual Disabilities)

• Completion of a state-approved teacher preparation program in Special Education

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field

• Successful completion of fingerprinting and background checks through the South Carolina Department of Education

• Experience with developing and managing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

• Prior teaching experience in a special education setting is strongly preferred

Typical Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each student’s academic and behavioral needs

• Provide specialized instruction and support in a variety of classroom settings

• Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and families to support student success

• Track and report student progress while maintaining compliance with state and federal special education regulations

• Participate in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and school-based professional development

• Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment
