Special Education Teacher - Thornton, Colorado

Two full-time contract opportunities are available for experienced Special Education professionals at the middle school level. Whether your expertise is in mild-moderate disabilities or you have a deep commitment to students with significant cognitive and communicative disabilities, your skills will help create a positive, inclusive atmosphere for students to thrive.

Openings available:

• Full-time Learning Services position at Northglenn Middle School, serving a mild-moderate caseload, starting September 23rd for a 7-week assignment.
• Full-time Special Education Teacher split between SSN (Significant Support Needs) and Learning Specialist roles at Rocky Top Middle School, starting as soon as possible through Winter Break. Candidates interested in a part-time SSN assignment are also encouraged to apply.

Key qualifications:

• Active Colorado Department of Education Teacher License
• Special Education Generalist Endorsement (Ages 5-21)
• Experience supporting students with diverse learning profiles, including significant cognitive and/or communicative needs
• Adaptability to work in varied school settings and collaborative teams
• Excellent communication and documentation skills

Responsibilities include:

• Delivering individualized instruction and support documented in IEPs
• Collaborating with families, general educators, and school teams to foster student achievement
• Implementing accommodations and modifications to enhance learning
• Managing and documenting student progress
• Contributing to a positive, inclusive learning community
