Special Education Teacher | Thornton, Colorado

This opportunity is available for two dedicated professionals eager to contribute their expertise in special education through the end of the school year.

Youll find yourself supporting either full-time affective needs at a middle school, where youll work with students experiencing significant social, emotional, or behavioral challenges, or working as a Learning Specialist supporting mild to moderate needs and leading supplemental math and literacy classes. Your commitment will ensure all learners are included, encouraged, and set up for ongoing success.

What were looking for:

• Valid Colorado Department of Education Teaching License with a Special Education Generalist endorsement (Ages 521)
• Background in serving students with moderate to severe disabilities and autism preferred
• Experience implementing behavior assessments (e.g., FBAs) and strategies (such as ABA)
• Knowledge and passion for evidence-based reading and literacy instruction
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, comfortable working within a multidisciplinary team
• Ability to fulfill time-sensitive district credentialing requirements prior to start date

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering differentiated instruction based on students individual needs
• Managing IEP development, documentation, and compliance
• Applying effective behavior management and social-emotional interventions
• Communicating regularly with parents, staff, and related service providers
• Providing support in either affective needs or supplemental learning settings
