Special Education Teacher in Upper Darby, PA

This contract opportunity offers two immediate openings in K-2 classrooms, with assignments running through June 10, 2027. As an onsite educator, you will support students and collaborate closely with colleagues to foster growth, engagement, and success.

Key Qualifications:

• Active and valid teaching certification/licensure appropriate for special education caseloads
• Minimum bachelors degree required (Essential for obtaining an emergency teaching permit)
• Ability to complete all required Pennsylvania (PA) clearances prior to start
• Demonstrated school-based experience, preferably in elementary settings
• Strong classroom management and behavioral management abilities
• Reliable transportation for consistent, onsite attendance
• Comfortable working in urban educational environments
• Proven record of creating engaging lesson plans, differentiating instruction, and utilizing formative assessments
• Must be able to consistently work on location between 8:30AM and 4:00PM; schedule accommodations are not available

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design and implement lesson plans aligned to current state and district standards
• Adapt curriculum and instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners
• Use data-driven strategies to monitor and assess student progress
• Collaborate with staff, administration, and families to support student development
• Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment
• Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and parent-teacher conferences
