Special Education Teacher – Full-Time
Location: Vernon Hills, IL
Hours: Full-Time, 37.5 hours/week
Setting: Onsite

Blazer Jobs is currently conducting interviews for an experienced Special Education Teacher for a full-time position with school districts in the Vernon Hills, Illinois area. We are seeking dedicated educators passionate about supporting diverse learners and fostering inclusive educational environments.
  
Details: 

• Location: Vernon Hills, IL
• Full Time: 35 hours per week
• Caseload: K-12 caseload, conducting testing and evaluations. The district likes to discuss more details at the time of interview to see the best fit based on experience.

Requirements – Applicants Must Meet All State and Local Criteria:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field
• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a LBS1 (Learning Behavior Specialist 1) Endorsement
• Compliance with all Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) requirements
• Previous classroom or resource teaching experience preferred
• Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
• Ability to pass required background checks and fingerprinting

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and evaluate Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Provide differentiated instruction tailored to students with varying abilities
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents
• Maintain accurate records of student progress, behavior, and IEP compliance
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and professional development
• Create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
