Full-Time Special Education Teacher Opening

Full-Time Special Education Teacher – Waltham, MA

To be considered for this role, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

• Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field

• Possess an active Massachusetts Educator License issued by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE)

• License must include certification in Moderate Disabilities or Severe Disabilities (appropriate to the grade level)

• Must have prior experience as a Special Education Teacher

• Additional local and state requirements include:

• Successful completion of a criminal background check (CORI and SAFIS fingerprinting)

• Compliance with all onboarding procedures specific to the school district

• Proof of legal authorization to work in the United States

• Updated physical and immunization records, as required by the district

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) based on student evaluations

• Provide differentiated instruction and classroom support aligned with student needs

• Collaborate with general education teachers, service providers, and families

• Monitor and report on student progress toward IEP goals

• Participate in IEP meetings, student evaluations, and parent-teacher conferences

• Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
