Full-Time Special Education Teacher – Waltham, MA
To be considered for this role, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field
Possess an active Massachusetts Educator License issued by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE)
License must include certification in Moderate Disabilities or Severe Disabilities (appropriate to the grade level)
Must have prior experience as a Special Education Teacher
Additional local and state requirements include:
Successful completion of a criminal background check (CORI and SAFIS fingerprinting)
Compliance with all onboarding procedures specific to the school district
Proof of legal authorization to work in the United States
Updated physical and immunization records, as required by the district
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) based on student evaluations
Provide differentiated instruction and classroom support aligned with student needs
Collaborate with general education teachers, service providers, and families
Monitor and report on student progress toward IEP goals
Participate in IEP meetings, student evaluations, and parent-teacher conferences
Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
