Qualifications:

• Current Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) Special Education license for secondary grades
• Commitment to Rhode Islands Right to Read Actpossess, or willingness to earn, Structured Literacy proficiency within one year of hire
• Experience working with high school-age students with EBD or severe behavioral concerns
• Deep understanding of IEP development, progress monitoring, and classroom management techniques tailored for sub-separate or self-contained settings
• Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach and support high school students in a self-contained environment, focusing on academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Maintain a structured, positive classroom atmosphere using specialized behavioral strategies
• Collaborate with related service providers, administrators, and families for comprehensive student support
