Your qualifications and experience include:

• Active Connecticut Special Education Teacher License and all relevant certifications
• Previous special education teaching experience preferred
• Familiarity with CT-SEDS is a plus
• The ability to adapt instruction for a range of learning styles and needs
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and families
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment

What youll do in this role:

• Provide direct instruction and support to students with special needs in accordance with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Develop and modify curriculum tailored to student goals and differentiated learning strategies
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers, school counselors, and other support staff
• Monitor, assess, and document student progress, adapting interventions as needed
• Foster student independence, self-advocacy, and social-emotional growth
• Maintain compliance with all district and state special education policies
