About This Opportunity: Join a supportive Kansas City, KS, district for a full-time (37.5 hours/week) contract from August 8, 2025, to May 21, 2026. You'll work with a high-incidence (less than 20 students) middle school caseload and benefit from dedicated paraprofessional and Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) support. This district truly values its educators and offers a collaborative environment with opportunities for professional growth.
Your Accountable Job Duties: You will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for middle school students with high-incidence disabilities.
- Providing direct and indirect instruction in various educational settings.
- Collaborating effectively with general education teachers, parents, support staff, and administrators, ensuring clear communication and shared accountability for student success.
- Accurately assessing student progress using data-driven methods and adjusting instructional strategies based on evidence.
- Implementing proactive classroom management techniques and contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students are held accountable for their behavior.
- Utilizing evidence-based teaching methodologies and demonstrating accountability for student outcomes.
- Maintaining thorough and accurate student records and documentation in a timely manner.
- Actively participating in IEP meetings and other school-related meetings, contributing meaningfully to the team's accountable decision-making processes.
- Effectively supervising and collaborating with paraprofessionals and RBTs, ensuring they are accountable for their assigned roles in supporting student learning and behavior.
Requirements: You must hold an active Kansas (KS) High Incidence Special Education license. Experience working with middle school students with high-incidence disabilities is highly preferred and will be prioritized.
