Special Education Teacher - Wilkesboro, North Carolina

This full-time contract opportunity begins as soon as possible and extends through June 4th, 2027. Youll work 35 hours per week, providing vital inclusion and resource support in a split position between a middle and a high school.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid North Carolina Teaching License for middle or high school levels
• Experience with inclusion/resource special education models preferred
• Understanding of IEP processes, progress monitoring, and differentiated instruction
• Strong communication skills and a proactive, flexible approach to changing needs
• Ability to collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and service providers

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and small group instruction aligned with IEP goals
• Co-teach and support students in general education classrooms (inclusion)
• Develop and adapt instructional materials to meet diverse learners needs
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records
• Participate in IEP meetings, collaborate on behavior intervention plans, and communicate regularly with families and staff
• Create a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment
