Special Education Teacher in Williamstown, MA

Educators will work in Substantially Separate Classrooms for either K-1st grade or 3rd-5th grade students. The setting offers meaningful opportunities to work closely with learners who have significant cognitive and physical disabilities, some of whom may be on the autism spectrum, are non-verbal, or require toileting support. Certain students will benefit from the assistance of a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT).

Key Requirements and Preferred Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification required
• Experience working with students with severe disabilities (cognitive and physical)
• Proficiency providing toileting and personal care support
• Familiarity with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) methodologies is preferred
• Background delivering specially designed instruction
• Effective collaboration skills with paraprofessionals, service providers, and other teachers
• Comfortable in a full-time, on-site position; travel educators welcome

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide daily instruction tailored to each student's individualized education plan (IEP)
• Implement behavior support strategies, including ABA techniques for students as needed
• Support self-care routines and personal hygiene for students requiring assistance
• Collaborate with RBTs, therapists, and support staff to maximize student participation and success
• Maintain thorough documentation on student progress, incidents, and interventions
• Foster a compassionate, structured, and safe learning environment
