Special Education Teacher | Wilmington, Delaware

Key Qualifications:

• Active and valid Delaware Special Education Teacher certification (must be submitted with application)
• Experience developing and implementing IEPs for students across a variety of grade levels and needs
• Strong knowledge of instructional strategies, accommodations, and modifications for diverse learners
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Capacity to manage required compliance paperwork and maintain thorough documentation
• Willingness to complete district onboarding processes, including fingerprinting, TB testing, and Child Protective Registry Check

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide classroom-based instruction and support to students with special needs
• Adapt general education curriculum as required and implement effective teaching strategies
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families for student success
• Guide effective IEP meetings and participate in data-driven decision making
• Maintain compliance through timely and accurate documentation
• Foster a positive and supportive atmosphere to help each student thrive

This is a full-time onsite role, working 35 hours per week (with a 30-minute unpaid lunch), beginning as soon as possible and extending through June 8, 2027. Youll support students across the district and be integral to meeting their educational goals.
