Blazer Jobs is currently interviewing experienced Special Education Teachers for a full-time position within school districts in the Wolcott, CT area. We are seeking dedicated educators who are passionate about supporting students with diverse learning needs in achieving their academic and developmental goals.
Requirements:
Applicants must meet all Connecticut state and local requirements, including:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field from an accredited institution

Valid Connecticut State Educator Certificate with an endorsement in Comprehensive Special Education (165) or another applicable Special Education endorsement

Completion of a state-approved teacher preparation program

Compliance with all Connecticut State Department of Education requirements, including:

Background checks and fingerprinting
-
Required training and certifications (e.g., CPR/First Aid if applicable)
Strong understanding of IEP development, instructional accommodations, and behavior management
Prior school-based experience preferred
Typical Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs
Provide direct instruction in academic, behavioral, and life skills areas in individual and group settings
Adapt general education curriculum to meet the needs of students with disabilities
Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records and documentation
Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and team planning sessions
Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
