Teacher of the Deaf in Canutillo, TX

Key Requirements:

• Valid Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) teaching licensure in Tennessee
• Experience working with high school-age students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Proficiency in delivering instruction and support virtually
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to engage and motivate students through creative, individualized approaches
• Familiarity with providing minimal, focused services in accordance with student IEP needs
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and compliance with all relevant regulations

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver targeted virtual instruction for a high school student, totaling 160 minutes per academic year (eight sessions of 20 minutes each)
• Develop and execute individualized lesson plans that align with the students educational goals
• Collaborate closely with school teams, families, and related service providers to ensure comprehensive student support
• Monitor progress and adapt strategies to meet evolving student needs
• Maintain accurate session and progress documentation
• Serve as an advocate for accessibility and inclusion in the educational environment
