Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction and support to students with hearing impairments in a classroom environment.

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that address the unique needs of each student.

• Collaborate with fellow educators and staff to ensure the comprehensive educational needs of students are met in an inclusive, supportive setting.

• Evaluate student progress through both formal and informal assessments, adjusting teaching methodologies as necessary.

• Promote accessibility and inclusion within the curriculum, ensuring that students are fully engaged in classroom activities.

• Advocate for students' communication and social-emotional needs, ensuring their voices are heard and understood.

• Maintain open lines of communication with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on student progress and addressing any concerns.

Required Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field.

• Valid state certification in Deaf Education or an equivalent qualification (or eligibility to obtain certification in the state of placement).

• Prior experience working with Deaf or Hard of Hearing students, preferably in an educational setting.

• Strong communication skills, including proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other alternative communication methods.

• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with educators, therapists, and administrators.

• A deep commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive, and empowering educational environment for all students.
