Provide specialized instruction and support to students with hearing impairments in a classroom environment.
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that address the unique needs of each student.
Collaborate with fellow educators and staff to ensure the comprehensive educational needs of students are met in an inclusive, supportive setting.
Evaluate student progress through both formal and informal assessments, adjusting teaching methodologies as necessary.
Promote accessibility and inclusion within the curriculum, ensuring that students are fully engaged in classroom activities.
Advocate for students' communication and social-emotional needs, ensuring their voices are heard and understood.
Maintain open lines of communication with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on student progress and addressing any concerns.
A Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field.
Valid state certification in Deaf Education or an equivalent qualification (or eligibility to obtain certification in the state of placement).
Prior experience working with Deaf or Hard of Hearing students, preferably in an educational setting.
Strong communication skills, including proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other alternative communication methods.
Proven ability to collaborate effectively with educators, therapists, and administrators.
