Job Overview – What You’ll Do:

Deliver direct and consultative services to K–12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing in a school-based setting. Develop and implement IEP goals tailored to individual auditory and language needs. Provide specialized instruction using oral, total communication, or ASL approaches. Collaborate with general education teachers, interpreters, audiologists, and families to promote student access and success. Monitor amplification equipment, advocate for accommodations, and support communication across environments.

Qualifications & Certifications (Washington Requirements):

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or related field

  • Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with Deaf Education endorsement (P-12)

  • Knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL), Total Communication, and/or oral methods

  • Experience working in a school or educational setting is strongly preferred

  • Ability to develop and implement IEPs and collaborate with IEP teams

  • Strong communication, organizational, and advocacy skills
