Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) – Local or Travel
Pay Rate: $39–$44+/hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Contract Dates: ASAP – June 1, 2026
About the Role
BlazerJobs is partnering with a school district in Bluffton, SC, to hire a qualified Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) for a full-time K–12 position. This role is open to both local and travel candidates. You will provide direct instruction and support to students with hearing impairments, develop individualized strategies, and ensure access to the general education curriculum.
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or related field
Active South Carolina teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education
Experience with K–12 students preferred
Knowledge of auditory/oral, total communication, or ASL methodologies
Job Duties
Provide direct and consultative instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
Collaborate with general and special education staff to support student success
Adapt instructional materials and communication methods to meet individual needs
Monitor student progress and maintain required documentation
