Full Time Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments

Blazer Jobs is seeking a passionate Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) for an itinerant full-time role in Anchorage, Alaska for the next school year. The position serves a diverse student population across a broad geographic area.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction to students aged 3–22 with a wide range of abilities.

• Support Braille learners in elementary and high school settings.

• Adapt curriculum and materials for low vision students on a regular basis.

• Travel between multiple schools within Anchorage.

• Maintain individualized education plans and progress monitoring.

• Collaborate with educational teams and family members.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Education of the Visually Impaired.

• Current Alaska teaching certification with a Visual Impairment endorsement.

• Minimum of one year of experience working with visually impaired students.

• Proficiency in Braille strongly preferred.

• Background check and clearance required.
