Shape the future by empowering students with visual impairments through specialized instruction and support. An exciting onsite, part-time contract opportunity is available for an inspired Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to provide expert guidance and teaching for the 2026-2027 academic year. This position offers a meaningful role supporting a focused caseload of around eight students, delivering services as required weekly, monthly, or quarterly, averaging approximately 15 hours per week.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Washington Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) Certification required.
  • Must complete fingerprinting through OSPI prior to start.
  • Previous experience working with visually impaired students in a school setting is preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with educational teams, students, and families.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and adapt instructional strategies and materials specific to students with visual impairments.
  • Manage a diverse caseload of eight students, adjusting service minutes to meet individual needs.
  • Work closely with IEP teams to monitor progress and support instructional goals.
  • Provide direct specialized services and support to ensure student access to the core and expanded core curriculum.
  • Consult with general education staff to promote inclusive classroom practices.
  • Document assessments, service logs, and progress notes accurately and timely.
