Qualifications & Experience:

• Current Oregon TVI (Teacher for the Visually Impaired) certification or licensure is required
• Previous experience teaching or supporting visually impaired students in K-12 settings
• Ability to adapt curriculum and instructional materials for a range of visual abilities
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with school staff, families, and outside resources
• Comfortable utilizing technology or adaptive tools for accessible learning
• Organized and adept at managing caseloads across multiple school locations

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support to K-12 students with visual impairments, both in-person and virtually, as assigned
• Assess student needs and adapt teaching strategies to support individualized educational goals
• Collaborate with general education teachers, special education professionals, and families to ensure inclusive access and accommodations
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in accordance with state and district guidelines
• Offer consultative services to staff regarding best practices and resources for visually impaired learners
• Maintain thorough documentation, scheduling, and communication regarding student progress
