The School Association for Special Education in DuPage (SASED) is a cooperative serving 18 member districts throughout DuPage County. Our mission is to provide high-quality special education services through a collaborative model focused on inclusion, access, and individualized support.

Position Summary:
SASED is seeking two certified Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVI) for the 2025–2026 school year. These educators will work directly with students who have visual impairments, ensuring access to curriculum, resources, and appropriate accommodations in a supportive educational environment.

Caseload:
Each position will support approximately 6–7 students with visual impairments across various grade levels and school sites within the assigned district.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and consultative services for students with visual impairments

  • Adapt curriculum and materials into accessible formats (Braille, large print, audio, etc.)

  • Collaborate with IEP teams, classroom teachers, and families

  • Conduct assessments to determine the needs of visually impaired students

  • Monitor and report on student progress and goal attainment

Requirements:

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)

  • Deaf-Blind Specialist Endorsement required

  • Prior experience working with visually impaired students preferred

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
