Make a meaningful impact supporting K-12 students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) with Orientation & Mobility Specialist (OMS) certification. This full-time contract opportunity offers the ideal blend of independence, flexibility, and variety, serving a district-wide caseload of approximately 1520 students across 13 campuses. With both direct and consultative services on a dynamic itinerant schedule, youll collaborate with educators and families to ensure access and academic success for students with diverse visual needs.

Key Qualifications:

  • Hold current Florida TVI licensure
  • OMS Certification required (must have)
  • Experience delivering screening and testing services
  • Background working with K12 populations; school-based experience preferred but not mandatory
  • Open to both on-site and VOCO with periodic travel for direct services

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments across 13 school sites; travel to 23 campuses daily as per your collaboratively planned schedule
  • Complete vision-related student screenings and conduct assessments
  • Deliver both direct instructional and consultative services in collaboration with school teams, families, and other professionals
  • Maintain thorough documentation, participate in IEP meetings, and contribute recommendations to support student learning
  • Uphold compliance with district procedures and ensure timely completion of required onboarding and credentialing documents
