Provide direct instruction and consultation for students as part of an itinerant support model within a dynamic educational environment. Collaborate with dedicated professionals and impact young learners from October 12, 2026, through June 4, 2027, for a 35-hour workweek.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid California teaching credential with Visually Impaired (VI) endorsement required
  • Demonstrated experience as a Visually Impaired Teacher or similar role serving K-12 students
  • Strong knowledge of assistive technology, Braille instruction, orientation and mobility, and IEP processes
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to effectively travel between school sites within the district as needed
  • Flexibility and commitment to delivering student-centered services in an itinerant, on-site capacity

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instructional services to students with visual impairments across multiple school sites
  • Conduct functional vision assessments and collaborate on Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Offer consultation and training to classroom teachers, staff, and families
  • Support student access to curriculum and learning environments through adapted materials and assistive technology
  • Monitor and document student progress, reporting regularly to team and families
  • Maintain compliance with educational best practices and district guidelines
