Qualifications & Experience:

  • Current certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (VI Teacher) required
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing specialized instructional strategies and methodologies for students with visual impairments
  • Strong knowledge of techniques, resources, and materials tailored to the needs of visually impaired students
  • Familiarity with ongoing assessment practices, including formal and informal student evaluation
  • Comfortable participating in and contributing meaningfully to ARD (Admission, Review, and Dismissal) meetings
  • Excellent organization, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Previous experience supporting students across elementary, middle, or high school levels preferred

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver personalized instructional programs in accordance with district standards
  • Assess student progress continually to inform instructional adjustments
  • Maintain thorough documentation and prepare required reports
  • Participate in ARD meetings as an advocate for your students
  • Collaborate with colleagues, families, and service providers to further students educational goals
  • Provide guidance on classroom materials and technology modifications
