Blazer Jobs is partnering with a school district in the Fort Worth, Texas area to hire a dedicated and qualified Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) for a full-time position in a special education setting for the 2025–2026 school year. This role plays a critical part in providing equitable and specialized instruction to students with visual impairments, helping them access curriculum and achieve meaningful academic growth.
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet all local and state certification standards, including:
Valid Texas teaching certification
Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TVI) endorsement issued by the Texas State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC)
Successful completion of required fingerprinting and background checks through the Texas Education Agency (TEA)
Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field (Master’s preferred)
At least 1 year of experience working with students with visual impairments (preferred)
Familiarity with Braille, assistive technology, and individualized instruction strategies
Deliver specialized instruction aligned with students’ IEP goals and visual needs
Teach compensatory skills such as Braille literacy, assistive tech use, and orientation and mobility basics
Modify and adapt instructional materials for accessibility
Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and IEP teams
Provide consultation to staff and families on accommodations and instructional strategies
Conduct functional vision assessments and contribute to IEP planning
Maintain documentation and monitor student progress
Support inclusive practices across academic settings
