Caseload Information:
- Part Time Position
- 5 Hours a week
- K -12th Elementary - High School Grade students
Job Details:
- Design and implement tailored instructional plans and materials for students with visual impairments.
- Provide direct teaching and support to visually impaired students, both individually and in small groups.
- Assess student progress and adjust instructional methods to address their evolving needs.
- Work closely with classroom teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to ensure comprehensive support for students.
- Recommend and incorporate assistive technologies and adaptive strategies to enhance learning..
Requirements:
- MUST HAVE Education Specialist with Visual Impairments (VI) endorsement
- Master’s level degree in Education for Visually Impaired Students
- MUST possess a valid Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) certification or licensure in North Carolina.
- Prior experience working with visually impaired students.
- Braille: letters, symbols and numbers
- Strong capacity to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- EEEI (Essential Element of Effective Instruction) preferred, dual certification in Visual Impairments and Orientation Mobility also preferred but not required
