Teacher of Visually Impaired in San Francisco, CA

Make a meaningful difference supporting students with visual impairments in an engaging educational environment. A contract position is available for a skilled teacher of the visually impaired to provide services in a reputable district in the San Francisco area for the 2026-2027 academic year. This role is itinerant and fully on-site, collaborating with students, families, and educational staff to deliver tailored instruction across multiple school sites.

Key qualifications and experience:

• Valid California teaching credential with a Visually Impaired (VI) endorsement (required)
• Experience working as a teacher for the visually impaired in school settings preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) based on student needs
• Proficiency in instructional strategies and assistive technology for visually impaired learners
• Flexibility and adaptability for on-site, itinerant service delivery

Primary responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver specialized instruction for students with visual impairments from October 12, 2026, through June 4, 2027
• Travel to assigned schools within the district to support a manageable caseload
• Conduct functional vision assessments and participate in IEP meetings
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, administrators, and related service providers
• Offer consultation, resources, and training to staff and families to enhance student access and inclusion
• Document progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with district and state requirements
