Schedule:

• Full-Time: 37.5 hours per week

• Days: Monday–Friday

• Onsite Only: This position requires in-person service; no virtual options are available

Caseload:
8 students

Job Description:

The Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) will:

• Provide direct instruction in academic and non-academic content areas tailored to students with visual impairments

• Collaborate with parents, staff, and service providers to support student development and progress

• Participate in determining instructional goals, methods, and materials in alignment with district guidelines

• Conduct ongoing assessments using formal and informal tools to monitor student achievement

• Prepare for and actively participate in ARD (Admission, Review, and Dismissal) meetings as required

Requirements:

• Valid North Carolina teaching license with Visual Impairment (VI) endorsement

• Prior experience working with visually impaired students is preferred

• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

• Ability to create and adapt materials for accessibility
