Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting K-12 students with visual impairments in a vibrant educational community. This full-time position involves providing both direct and consultative services to students across several campuses. While on-site presence is preferred, flexibility for VOCO (virtual instruction) with periodic travel for hands-on support is also available. The district office serves as your work homebase, simplifying commuting between schools, generally serving 2 to 3 campuses per day with a variety of weekly scheduling options tailored to minimize travel time.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • Active Professional Florida Teacher of the Visually Impaired license
  • Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) Certification required
  • Experience providing school-based services is highly preferred
  • Strong background in student screening and assessment
  • Comfortable working with K-12 populations
  • Willingness to provide both in-person and occasional virtual support
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and indirect services to visually impaired students (K-12) at 13 campuses
  • Assess, screen, and develop individualized support strategies for approximately 1520 students
  • Collaborate with educators, staff, and families to ensure accessible learning environments
  • Travel to assigned schools as part of an itinerant caseload, maintaining a weekly schedule adapted to your needs
  • Participate in district onboarding, maintain compliance with documentation and weekly timesheet procedures
